The Dutch gaming authority, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), has issued a stop order to Winning Poker Network for providing online gambling without authorization, in contravention of national regulations.
The KSA initially scrutinized Winning Poker Network last September, discovering that the operator was unlawfully offering games of chance. After being contacted by the governing body, Winning Poker Network declared it would discontinue these operations. However, upon further examination by the KSA, while the original Winning Poker Network website was no longer accessible from the Netherlands, Dutch players were still able to establish accounts on another website managed by the operator. Consequently, the KSA asserted that Dutch consumers could utilize these accounts to illegally engage in games of chance with Winning Poker Network. As the illicit provision of games of chance had not been entirely halted, the regulator decided that a stop order was issued, accompanied by a recurring penalty. If the infringements persist, Winning Poker Network will be obligated to pay €25,000 (£21,954/$26,914) per week, up to a maximum of €75,000.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has declared that it will closely monitor gambling companies to ensure they comply with regulations.
