The Ontario gaming regulatory body, the AGCO, has removed its wagering limitations on the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). This decision follows the AGCO’s collaboration with U.S. Integrity, a prominent sports integrity oversight firm.
Worries surfaced earlier this year concerning unusual wagering trends in UFC matches, prompting the AGCO to briefly suspend all UFC betting within Ontario. To tackle these issues, the AGCO will now leverage U.S. Integrity’s proficiency in detecting and evaluating potentially questionable betting actions. This alliance will encompass all UFC events, guaranteeing thorough monitoring.
This represents a major shift for both UFC enthusiasts and the organization itself. Riché T. McKnight, the UFC’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel, stressed the organization’s dedication to preserving the sport’s honesty. He emphasized the reinforced UFC Athlete Conduct Code, which explicitly forbids all athletes from participating in any manner of wagering on UFC bouts, either personally or via intermediaries.
Matthew Holt, CEO and co-founder of U.S. Integrity, conveyed eagerness about the partnership, acknowledging the swift expansion of UFC betting within regulated sports wagering sectors.
US Integrity demonstrates a complete dedication to providing superior analytical information and regulatory adherence strategies for their clientele. The company is enthusiastic about collaborating with the UFC, an exceptional entity, to enhance the organization’s ethical guidelines and operational protocols.”
