Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) has designated Sam Ulrich as their lead for Investor Relations. In this capacity, he will manage all investor relations activities, collaborating closely with existing and prospective investors, as well as industry analysts.

Sam contributes over 15 years of financial expertise to this publicly listed corporation. Before joining CDI, he held the position of Director, Business & FP&A at KFC, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands.

His career commenced in the audit practice at PwC in Louisville, Kentucky.

Sam progressed through various finance and accounting positions at both KFC and Yum! Brands, ultimately serving as the Interim Chief Financial Officer for KFC US in October 2022. In this role, he supervised all financial aspects of the nearly $5 billion brand encompassing almost 4,000 restaurants across the country.

Sam earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with highest honors from the University of Kentucky. He is also a certified Certified Public Accountant in the state of Kentucky.

Previously this month, CDI inaugurated the $400 million Terre Haute Casino Resort in Indiana, boasting a high-end hotel with 122 guest rooms, an event space, and a casino with 1,000 slots, 36 table games, and a dedicated sports betting area.

This endeavor significantly boosted the regional economy, generating 1000 positions in construction and currently providing full and part-time employment to approximately 550 individuals. Furthermore, CDI secured a significant collaboration with Sports Illustrated earlier this year, encompassing exclusive title rights for a novel dining venture at the Kentucky Derby.
