A prominent Australian Rules Football figure, Wayne Carey, recently spoke out against Crown Resorts after being accompanied out of their Perth gaming establishment for allegedly possessing a white powdery substance.
The previous week, Carey reportedly dropped a small bag holding a white material. The AFL icon refutes claims that it was an illicit narcotic.
The 51-year-old asserts the powder was prescribed anti-inflammatory medicine and alleges he presented it to employees after the packet slipped from his pants.
“Let me be unambiguous, I was not removed,” Carey stated. “I am disheartened by the occurrences.”
“Crown has misrepresented their account twice now. They should have contacted law enforcement immediately. If their allegations hold any truth, they would have been on the phone with the authorities instantly.”
Crown Resorts’ recently appointed CEO, Ciarán Carruthers, contradicted Carey’s assertions. He informed regional journalists that the AFL athlete’s narrative did not align with the reports provided by Crown personnel.
“Our team members are instructed to report any questionable happenings, and in this situation, they acted upon their training and requested the guest to depart,” Carruthers explained.
“My comprehension is that they were unaware it was Wayne Carey. He was a patron, simply an individual purchasing tokens at the time.”
“Personnel observed a small package fall out with currency, they alerted the gaming supervisor.”
He abandoned his satchel at that location, and I’m utterly clueless about the subsequent events. Kerry’s attorney is attempting to ascertain if their client was treated unfairly, and Chief Blanche, the head of the local police force, stated yesterday that the gambling establishment should have immediately alerted the authorities about the occurrence.
