UK betting companies likely saw significant earnings exceeding £75 million during the Grand National weekend, as per analysis from bettingexpert.com, a community platform for wagering aficionados.
The platform projects that more than £35 million was staked on the Grand National race itself, equating to a minimum of £75 million in revenue for bookies on Saturday. Examining figures from prominent UK bookmakers, they determined the mean gain per user for that day reached £2.84.
These findings also indicated that betting firms enjoyed returns surpassing £16 per client across the three-day Aintree festival. Friday, dubbed Ladies Day, led the way with an average yield of £11 per client, while Thursday and Saturday witnessed gains of £2.33 and £2.84 correspondingly.
Over the course of the Grand National festival, users placed an average of 7.5, 10.3, and 7.9 wagers per day, with the mean wager amount per bet ranging between £9.10 and £9.20.
Notably, this comes after data published last month by bettingexpert.com revealing that bookmakers experienced shortfalls, averaging £3.21 per client, subsequent to the Cheltenham Festival.
